Indexing
Indexing means Google adds a page to its index – only then can it appear in the search results.
Indexing – explained simply
Not every crawled page gets indexed. Google skips pages that are duplicated, very thin or technically blocked (for example with “noindex”).
Google Search Console shows which pages are indexed and why others are missing.
Practical tip for Swiss SMEs
A “site:yourdomain.ch” search shows roughly how many pages are indexed – Search Console shows which ones are missing.
