CTR (click-through rate)
CTR (click-through rate) is the share of people who see a search result or ad and click on it.
CTR – explained simply
Example: 1,000 impressions and 50 clicks give a CTR of 5 percent. Title, description and rich snippets have a strong influence on it.
In Google Ads, the expected click-through rate also affects Quality Score and therefore click costs.
Practical tip for Swiss SMEs
Find pages in Search Console with many impressions but few clicks – a better title there often brings more visitors quickly.
